Ubuntu 9.04 release party in Berlin this weekend

The Ubuntu-Berlin crew celebrates the release of a new major release of Ubuntu again. This time the major is called “Jaunty Jackalope” and Ubuntu-Berlin hosts a great night at c-base to revel it – who said that geeks don’t like to party! ;)

This is the agenda of sessions held during the party. More information can be found at the related page over at ubuntu-berlin.de:

* 16:30 “Einleitung, Ubuntu-Community, Party Infos”, michazoet
* 17:00 “neues in Ubuntu 9.04″, ccm
* 17:30 “Verschlüsselung I: GnuPG, Email und Jabber”, vortex
* 18:00 “Ubuntu & UMTS”, berlinerbaer
* 18:30 “Ubuntu auf und von USB-Sticks installieren”, eremit7
* 19:00 “Verschlüsselung II: Dateien und Partitionen”, vortex
* 19:30 “fernöstliche Lokalisierung, CJK (Chinesisch, Japanisch, Koreanisch)”, frederyk

As for the last time the Berlin metro information system features the party with a 30 second advertising spot. Thanks to ccm i can show you a transcript of the spot here:

I’ve seen this spot several times in action today. It will run for three days and I think the guys at Berliner Fenster, what the Berlin metro tv information system is called, do a great job featuring Ubuntu for free!
